Your Elderly Loved Ones Deserve Unique and Compassionate Care

When Pam Bains formed Skyway Senior Care Home, she envisioned it quickly becoming the go-to Type B Assisted Living facility in Denton. She felt this way because she wanted to ensure seniors and their families had enough unique and local options available to them when deciding on a new home. While Skyway certainly isn’t the only assisted living facility in North Texas, the intimate relationships, quality care, and home-like environment her facility provides can’t be duplicated. Skyway goes beyond the traditional senior care services families expect by offering personalized, around-the-clock care in a small environment that mimics all the comforts of home. Just a few resident benefits include:

  • The ability to live in a residential home (not an unfamiliar facility)
  • Aging-in-place service
  • Three residents to one caregiver ratio
  • Private and semi-private rooms
  • Rooms can be decorated to feel like home
  • Assistance with all activities of daily living
  • Social and recreational activities
  • 24-hour supervision and monitoring
  • ADA-compliant bathrooms
  • Housekeeping and laundry services included
  • Fixed pricing (for assisted living services)
  • And so much more…

Meet Your House Manager

Pam Bains is a certified nurse assistant with more than 12 years of experience working in healthcare. Before opening Skyway, she worked as a caregiver in both a facility setting and home health and noticed that many of the elderly patients she cared for weren’t receiving as much one-on-one caregiving as they deserved. Studies have shown that dementia patients and the elderly do better in smaller, home-like environments as opposed to larger care facilities where they are one of 40-50 residents under one roof. This point was driven home even further when Pam developed a personal relationship with one patient, in particular. The patient had to move several times as her needs changed, and through a stroke of luck, she and Pam connected again at another facility several years later. This was around the time that Pam was thinking about opening her own assisted living center. The patient’s family wanted their mother to be Pam’s first resident, and they’ve been together every day since.
“That’s what she was missing — the family feel. She stayed at my home for two years and really enjoyed the commotion of my own children going in and out of the house and spending holidays with our family. Even my dogs loved to stay in her room with her, and she enjoyed it so much. When I opened the new Skyway, she came with me. I just have a heart for this career field. I love to do it. They are my extended family.” — Pam Bains

"Communication with the Caregivers is the Best."

"Finding a place to care for your loved one is a difficult process and decision. After having a horrible and traumatic experience at a larger memory care center, I knew the moment we walked in to Skyway that it could be home for my sister. It actually is a home setting, very few patients and around the clock attention from the caregivers. The communications with the caregivers is probably what impresses me most. I encourage everyone who is in this situation to look at a small loving home for their loved ones care and Skyway is that place."
