Texas Health and Human Services defines an Assisted Living Facility as facilities that “provide individualized health and personal care assistance in a home-like setting with an emphasis on personal dignity, autonomy, independence, and privacy. Facilities can be large apartment-like settings or private residences. Texas Health and Human Services licenses assisted living facilities based on a resident’s physical and mental ability to evacuate the facility in an emergency and whether nighttime attendance is necessary.”
Skyway Senior Care Home in Denton, TX, is classified as a Type B facility. While we do offer accommodations to independent residents, the bulk of our services cater to residents who either require staff assistance to evacuate in an emergency, are not capable of following directions in these situations, or require nighttime attendance.
Our Services
- Personal care and hygiene — bathing and showering, dressing, toileting, help with getting in and out of bed, etc.
- Assistance with all activities of daily living — in addition to personal care and hygiene, this includes assistance getting in and out of bed, eating, transferring, walking, etc.
- Social and recreational activities — exercise, gardening, games, social events, art, other individual or group activities, etc.
- 24-hour supervision and monitoring — two caregivers and one manager on staff for 24-7 care.
- Meal services — 3 nutritional meals and 2 snacks per day
- Third-party services welcome — we partner with and welcome hospice care services, home health, salons, etc.
- Medication Management
1. Administration — we give them the medication
2. Supervision — we supervise the resident as they take their medication
3. Reminders — if a resident cannot remember, we provide timely reminders

This means monthly costs remain the same for the entirety of your loved one’s stay with us — regardless of how much their needs change as the years go by. Many facilities do not offer this level of pricing. They will traditionally increase their costs if a resident requires more assistance (ex: resident used to be able to bathe themselves but now cannot). We determine the initial cost of care based on your loved one’s existing needs at the time of inquiry.
Independent Pricing
While many of our elderly residents require varying degrees of assistance and 1-on-1 care, others are still independent but simply need a place to live that supplies meals, housekeeping, companionship, activities, etc. Separate and more streamlined pricing applies for these residents since direct 1-on-1 care is not required for daily living.
* Note: If a resident is independent when they join us but eventually require assistance in the future, we will assess those needs and offer a new fee structure to match the new services.
